1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how FiFi ("FiFi," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the FiFi mobile application (the "App") and related services (the "Service").
FiFi is an independent service operated by its owner or a successor entity.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information that you voluntarily provide when using the Service, including:
- Content you submit (such as links or media from third-party sources)
- Communications you send to us (e.g., support inquiries)
- Clothing preference — on first launch, the App asks you to choose between Menswear, Womenswear, or All (no preference). This is a user-chosen label, not an inferred or detected characteristic. The preference can be updated at any time via Settings.
2.2 Data We Store About You
FiFi stores the following information associated with your anonymous profile:
- Anonymous ID — a randomly generated identifier assigned on first use. No name, email address, or other identifying information is required or collected.
- Country code — inferred from your device at session time and used solely to support regional features.
- Clothing preference — the selection described in 2.1 above (Menswear, Womenswear, or All).
- Search history — a record of clothing items you have searched for within the App.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect certain information, including:
- Device information (e.g., device type, operating system)
- Usage data (e.g., interactions with the App, features used)
- Log data (e.g., timestamps, app performance data)
2.4 Analytics Information
We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the Service, including:
- Feature usage
- Engagement patterns
- Performance metrics
This information helps us improve and optimize the Service.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Process content you submit in order to deliver functionality
- Improve, personalize, and enhance the Service
- Monitor usage and performance
- Respond to inquiries and provide support
- Detect, prevent, and address technical or security issues
4. User-Submitted Content
The Service processes content that you choose to provide (such as links or media from third-party sources).
We use this content solely to deliver the functionality of the Service and generate results and recommendations.
We do not claim ownership of your submitted content.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
5.1 Service Providers
We may share information with trusted third-party providers who assist us in operating the Service (e.g., hosting, analytics, infrastructure).
5.2 Search Processing — SerpAPI and Google Lens
When you select a clothing item to search for, FiFi sends a request to SerpAPI (serpapi.com/legal), which processes the search via Google Lens on our behalf. The following information is transmitted as part of each search request:
- The URL of the detected item's cropped image
- If you have set a preference of Menswear or Womenswear: a plaintext clothing category term ("mens" or "womens") appended as a search query. If your preference is set to All, no preference term is transmitted.
Your FiFi anonymous user ID is never sent to SerpAPI. The transmitted data is used solely to return shopping results and is not combined with any personal identifier from FiFi.
SerpAPI acts as a service provider and processes this data in accordance with its own privacy practices. SerpAPI retains search query data for up to 31 days. Please refer to SerpAPI's legal page for details on their data handling.
The clothing preference is used at search time only. It does not filter or personalise item detection, video processing, or history screens.
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or if we believe such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights or safety, or prevent fraud or abuse.
5.4 Business Transfer or Assignment
We may transfer or assign information we collect in connection with a business restructuring, incorporation into a company, or a sale, merger, or transfer of assets.
Your continued use of the Service following such transfer constitutes acknowledgment of this possibility.
6. Third-Party Content and Services
The Service may process content originating from third-party sources.
FiFi does not control third-party content and is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party platforms or services.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or comply with legal obligations.
Specifically:
- Your FiFi profile (anonymous ID, country code, clothing preference, and search history) is retained for as long as you actively use the App. If your account has had no activity for 12 consecutive months, your profile and all associated data are automatically and permanently deleted.
- Search queries processed by SerpAPI (item image URLs and any clothing preference term) are retained by SerpAPI for up to 31 days in accordance with SerpAPI's own data retention practices. FiFi has no control over SerpAPI's retention timeline.
You may also delete your data at any time — see Section 9 for details.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Controls
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including:
- The right to access a copy of your data
- The right to request correction or deletion
- The right to object to or restrict processing
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete all data FiFi holds about you at any time by tapping "Delete all my data" in the Settings screen of the App. This removes your user record entirely, including your anonymous ID, country code, clothing preference, and search history. This action is irreversible.
Requesting a copy of your data
To request a copy of the data FiFi holds about you, email help@fififindsfits.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Changing your clothing preference
Your clothing preference (Menswear, Womenswear, or All) can be updated at any time via the three-segment toggle in Settings. Changes are applied immediately.
10. International Use
FiFi is operated independently and may process information in multiple jurisdictions.
If you access the Service from outside your country of residence, your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take steps to delete it.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date.
Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
